Everything shook; everything.
Sbux: I just can't get enough.
Barista: Hi! What can I get you?
Cate: Could I get a Grande, Upside down, Iced Chai Latte with Soy & 2 pumps of Vanilla.
Barista: Oh (giggle), you'll have to repeat that for me.
Cate: Ok.
Barista: What was that again?
Cate: A Grande (pause) Upside down (pause) Iced Chai Latte (pause) with Soy (pause) & 2 pumps of Vanilla.
Barista: (way too much writing on the cup) So, a Vanilla Latte with Soy. Great! What size?
Cate: (blank stare) Can I just get a hot chocolate?

Leaving home is never easy. I cry before my ‘rents drop me off at the airport and before I board the plane. (I always have a Starbucks bev in my hand. Not that it helps—just a random fact.)
It’s a horrible feeling knowing I have to go a whole year before seeing my family again. Sometimes I wish I never left Chicago because this time of year makes me crumble.
